This film is a dramatized version of amalgamated stories of many women leaders across India today. It is the story of Lakshmi – who is elected as the head (sarpanch) of the village and her struggles – personal with an egoist husband and with the society at large in bringing in a female perspective to larger decisions of the village. How does Lakshmi strike a balance between her personal life and issues that she believes in - form the crux of the film. The film is shot in actual locations in the interiors of Gujarat.
